hotpresspaperdoll is Angela Ayala.
An arts and crafts enthusiast, Angela can often be found painting, collaging, or attempting some sort of fiber art.
She pulls inspiration from small California towns, good jokes, her late father’s book collection, big band orchestras, her local library, canned food labels, Nancy and Sluggo, the movies shown at the Tower Theatre, her cool friends, the sea, creative reuse stores, the music of Sufjan Stevens, flowers, ephemera, and anyone she’s ever had a pleasant conversation with.
Angela greatly admires the works of children’s book illustrators from the 20th-century such as: Richard Scarry, Maurice Sendak, Adrienne Adams, Margaret Bloy Graham, Arnold Lobel, Mary Blair, and J.P. Miller.
Miss Pam’s Here! Miss Pam & Rosey - Olympic Torch Triumph is Angela’s first full-length published work.
